Energy - Clean & Renewable

The massive atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) is currently a major concern. Most of the emitted CO2 is anthropogenic, and the production of energy is among the top activities that contribute to these emissions.

LAQV is strongly committed over the next years to help find sustainable solutions for energy conversion, storage, distribution, and recycling, using the know-how of several research groups.

LAQV is an active member of the NET4CO2 CoLAB, which is a network of Research & Development competences and new technologies. Its founding members include the Galp Energia, S.A., the University of Porto, the Instituto Superior Técnico, LAQV, the International Iberian nanotechnology laboratory, and the Change Partners, SCR, SA. LAQV is contributing to the main objective of NET4CO2 CoLAB, which is to create new products and processes towards a sustainable CO2 circular economy.
