A study carry out by an interdisciplinary team, with the LAQV researchers Nuno Lapa, Inês Matos and Maria Bernardo, under the frame of the Plataforma Combustíveis de Baixo Carbono - PCBC, shows the current low-carbon fuels (LCF) scenario in Portugal and the perspectives for 2030.
LCFs help to decarbonise sectors where electrification is still challenging (like aviation and long-distance freight), significantly lowering GHG emissions (calculated from feedstock creation to end-use) comparatively to conventional fossil fuels.
