Nuno Lapa is an Assistant Professor at FCT NOVA. He got his PhD in Environmental Engineering (2004) from FCT NOVA in the field of eco-compatibility studies of new materials for civil engineering works. Between 2012 and 2013, he worked at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, in the topic of Life Cycle Analysis. His current research topics are the optimization of biogas and bio-hydrogen production from organic wastes, valorisation of organic wastes towards the production of porous carbon materials and Life Cycle Analysis of new bio-products. He is an Associate Editor of Waste Management journal (Elsevier) and external expert of the Research Executive Agency (European Commission).
