LR obtained the degree in Pathological, Cytological and Thanatological Anatomy (2012) at Instituto Politécnico de Saúde do Norte. In 2014 has completed the MSc degree in Molecular Oncology at ICBAS, University of Porto. During her MSc studies, she was involved in the identification of two small molecule dual inhibitors of the p53-MDM2/MDMX interactions, OXAZ-1 and DIMP53-1. Her PhD thesis, is focus on the discovery of pharmacological modulators of BRCAs function, seeking for new effective therapies thought inhibition of DNA repair pathways. Additionally, she was involved in the discovery of the first reactivator of the mutant p53R280K (SLMP53-1) and of the first inhibitor of the TAp73 interaction with MDM2 and mutant p53 (LEM2).
