HR obtained the MSc degree in Bioengineering at Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. During her MSc studies, she was involved in the study of the molecular mechanism of a potential inhibitor of the p73-MDM2 interaction identified in yeast. Her PhD thesis, under the supervision of L. Saraiva, mainly focus on the discovery of new p53-activating agents, seeking for more
effective therapies for colorectal cancer. She also studies the impact of anticancer drug candidates identified by the group on tumor metabolism and metastasis.
