P. Lemos is Principal Investigator in Rede de Química e Tecnologia Laboratório Associado para a Química Verde where he is leading the Microbial Ecology and Technology lab since 2009 in the area of Environmental Biotechnology involving processes with mixed cultures. In particular research interests deal with: Waste/wastewater treatment and reuse, Biological nutrients removal, Biopolymers production, Bioremediation of soils, Microbial ecology, and Bioconsolidation and bioformulation of building materials.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of AEM, and Associated Editor of Microbiotechnology (specialty sec. of Frontiers in Microbiology, F. in Bioeng. and Biotec. and F. in Environm.Science)
