Miguel Peixoto de Almeida got his First and Master's degrees in Biochemistry in 2007 and 2009 (U. Porto). He started his scientific career in 2010, with focus in carbon nanomaterials and their use in catalysis. In 2013, moved to REQUIMTE, shifting the research focus to metal nanoparticles and their application in sensing. In 2019, he got his PhD degree in Sustainable Chemistry (U. Aveiro, U. Nova Lisboa, U. Porto). He is since then a researcher in this Associate Laboratory, with work interests as anisotropic metal nanoparticles, and their application in nanobioconjugates for sensing and SERS. He is co-author of 2 book chapters, 24 peer-reviewed scientific papers (450+ citations, h-index 10) and 45+ communications in conferences.
