Helena M.V.M. Soares has a Ph.D in Chemistry (1995). Her current research interests are: (i) recycling of metals from raw materials and (ii) development of alternative environmental-friendly chelating agents. She is author of 92 (75 as 1st and/or corresponding author) ISI publications (2000 citations; H-index of 24), 1 international patent, 2 book chapters and > 100 communications in conferences. She supervised 9 Ph.D students and regularly contributes to national (FCT) and international panels, coordinated(es) several (6 FCT) national projects. She participated in the Scientific Commitee of international conferences and the Management Committee of the COST Action ES1407. She belongs to the Editorial Board of Recycling, a MDPI journal.
