Food Quality and Technology
Isabel Mafra has a degree in Food Engineering from the Portuguese Catholic University, a master's degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Minho and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Aveiro. She is currently Principal Researcher at the associated laboratory REQUIMTE at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, where she has been developing research in the area of food quality and safety, more specifically in molecular biology applied to the assessment of food authenticity, analysis/characterization of food allergens and detection of genetically modified organisms. She has published more than 100 scientific articles in indexed international journals and participates(ed) in more than 30 scientific projects.
