Luísa Aguiar obtained her PhD in Chemistry in 2019, with a project focused on the modification of bioactive peptides with antimalarial drugs and the study of their interactions with lipid model membranes and Plasmodium-infected erythrocytes.
Luísa's current research interests are focused on the development of bioactive peptides (e.g. cell penetrating and antimicrobial peptides) and peptide nucleic acids as anti-infective agents.
