D. Phil. at the University of Oxford, UK, in 1978. Three years at the University of Alcalá de Henares 1979-1981, Spain. Postdoctoral studies at the University of Groningen, Holland in 1981-1982. She joined the NOVA University of Lisbon, Faculty of Sciences and Tecnology, Portugal, in 1983. Since 1994 she heads a research group in Organometallic Chemistry , her research aims to the synthesis of complexes of transition metals, and applications . She has authored about 50 publications in journals of high impact factor in the area of Inorganic Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalyses.
