Researcher
Joana Oliveira (JO) has a PhD in 2009 in Chemistry from the University of Porto. Since 2016, she has been a Research Associate at REQUIMTE in the DQB-FCUP. Her research focuses on the chemistry of anthocyanins and other phenolic compounds from natural sources. She collaborates with agro-food companies to replace synthetic dyes with natural ones.
JO has published 90 papers and 4 book chapters, with over 2400 citations and an h-index of 30. She is an inventor on an international patent and serves as a guest editor and reviewer for several journals. JO supervises various researchers and students and has completed supervision of numerous others.
She has led and collaborated on several funded projects, and received multiple awards, including the 1st Ragai Ibrahim Prize. JO actively participates in scientific events and public dissemination activities. She collaborates with numerous scientific and industrial partners, having created a broad international network.
