PhD student
Thiago F. Soares earned a BSc in Chemistry from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil, in 2012. He completed a second BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Centro Leste, Brazil, in 2014. He earned an MSc in Chemistry from UFES, Brazil, in 2014, and an MSc in Quality Control from Faculty of Phamacy of Porto University - Portugal, in 2022. He worked as engineer/quality analyst for 8 years (2014-2022) in 4 different companies, in the environmental and food field. Since 2023, he is PhD student at the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (DCF), Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry of the Network of Chemistry and Technology (LAQV-REQUIMTE), Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto University. During his academic journey he: (i) successfully developed research projects in the areas of electrochemistry, corrosion, materials development, waste and wastewater treatment, drilling fluids analysis and food field, (ii) got a scientific initiation scholarship from the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), (iii) was awarded with a researcher grant in the Aplysis Soluções Ambientais company after performing a collaborative research work in the UFES. The abovementioned research projects brought several outputs, such as: (i) 17 communication in national and international conferences (4 oral communications and 13 poster communications), (ii) member of the jury of 3 graduation final works, and (iii) publication of 7 articles (6 in international journals and 1 in a Brazilian journal; 4 as first author and 3 as second author). He currently has a funding scholarship to obtain a PhD degree from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) in Portugal.
