PhD student
Inês Navalho Morais, is currently a PhD student in Tropical Diseases and Global Health at IHMT-NOVA (since 2023) with an FCT grant (Supervisor: Fátima Nogueira - ORCID: 0000-0003-0313-0778, Co-supervisor: Paula Gomes - ORCID: 0000-0002-6018-4724).
She holds a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences (IHMT-NOVA, 2019) and graduated in Biochemistry from NOVA-FCT in 2017. She is certified and accredited for handling laboratory animals by DGAV. Inês was honored with the Professor João Fraga de Azevedo Award for best IHMT-NOVA master theses in Medical Parasitology (2019).
She was the recipient of a Research Fellow in two research projects: PTDC_BIA-CEL_28456_2017 (2020/01-2022/01), CIRCNA/BRB/0281/2019_AMAZING (2023/02-2023/10) and has co-authored 3 papers, one as 1st author (all Q1).
Her research focus is on malaria drug resistance and new antimalarials.
