(Chemical) Bonding is what makes life possible

Arooj Fatima is a young enthusiastic chemical engineer. She has a broad range of professional experience in academia, science, and industry. In July 2019, she completed her Erasmus Mundus Master in Membrane and Chemical engineering program, awarded by a consortium of six highly prestigious European universities including Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal. She equipped herself with the knowledge of membrane processes, barrier membranes for food packaging, polymer materials, and characterization of porous materials. Her masters' thesis work was published recently in the European Polymer Journal (Q1 journal). Presently, she is working as a Ph.D. student at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT), Portugal. Her Ph.D. work is developing and modifying the bacterial cellulose membranes for various applications including gas transport and food packaging.
