(Chemical) Bonding is what makes life possible

Luís Pereira is graduated in Biotechnology by University of Évora and finished his Master Degree in Biotechnology by NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) in December 2022. During his Master Thesis, he worked with biomaterials and drug delivery systems, namely liposomes, to create a system for the controlled release of a model polyphenolic compound, ferulic acid, under the supervision of the Assistant Researchers Carla Portugal and Filipa Pires. Currently, he is facing a new challenge, studying enzymes able to convert the problematic carbon dioxide into added-value compounds, integrated in the «CO2Free» project (PTDC/BTA-BTA/0935/2020), under the supervision of Luisa Maia, at LAQV REQUIMTE, FCT NOVA.
