(Chemical) Bonding is what makes life possible

MJF has a degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Functional Biology and Biotechnology of Plants by Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto. She was involved in a Marie Curie Action (SexSeed RISE project GA No. 690946), where she had the opportunity to develop her skills on the fields of bioinformatics, cutting-edge microscopy and next generation sequencing, by joining Dr Higashiyama (Japan) and Dr Haak (USA) lab groups. Currently, as a PhD student funded by a FCT fellowship, she is working with Dr Sílvia Coimbra (SPReD Lab– LAQV REQUIMTE) and Dr Higashiyama (ITbM, Nagoya University) to unveil a specific genetic network established in the funiculus and which is affecting seed maturation and abscission.
