Raquel Figueiredo (RF) is a Post-doctoral researcher in the group SPRED - Sexual Plant Reproduction and Development. RF holds a PhD in plant sciences (2011) from FCUP. During her PhD, RF has studied the functions of class III peroxidases and their impact in plant cells and whole plant physiology. During her Postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley, USA (2012-14), RF has focused in the molecular basis of plant perception of bacterial pathogens. From 2015-18, RF moved to UNICAMP, Brazil, to study MYB regulation of the suberin biosynthetic pathway in sugarcane. Currently, RF main project focuses in the male-female crosstalk towards fertilization in A. thaliana, in particular the AGPs role in the molecular pathway driving to seed formation.
