Margarida Duarte Araújo graduated in Veterinary Medicine (UTAD, 1997) and has a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS-UP, 2011). Master in Science and Welfare of laboratory animal (FELASA category D, UAB, 2016) also holds a postgraduate degree in Behavioral Diseases in companion animals (INSPSIC, 2017). As an assistant professor teaches Pharmacology and Ethology to veterinary, medicine, biochemistry, bioengineering and aquatic sciences students. She was responsible for ICBAS rodent house facility and founding member of the Ethics Committee and the Animal Welfare Body. Author of several articles, her main research interests are 1) influence of diabetes and IBD on ENS; 2) toxicology of new and old drugs and 3) laboratory animal sciences.
