During my PhD I have performed in vitro skin permeation studies to assess the permeation of different compounds by methods utilizing radiolabelled chemicalsr and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). I have also performed imaging to assess drug deposition within skin and nail to better understand the transport of molecules with different physicochemical properties. This knowledge obtained from these studies to understand transport within the various tissues was then applied to formulation development and improvement of in vitro skin delivery of an anticancer agent.
Currently, I am working on novel approaches for the regeneration of skin injuries using nanotechnology for the delivery of therapeutic proteins.
