Position
PhD student
Pedro Varandas graduated in Chemistry at the University of Coimbra, where he started his research as an undergraduate student working in colaboration with the organic and electrochemistry groups. He continued his studies at the University of Aveiro, where he joined the group of Professor Artur Silva during his MSc degree in Organic Chemistry.
Currently, he is a PhD student in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Porto. His research interests are now concerned with the development and synthesis of new chemical products with pharmacological interest, through new and sustainable processes. Concerning this area, he is interested in developing new probes for lipid quantification taking advantage of his background as synthetic chemist.
