Nuno R. Candeias was born in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1981. He graduated in Applied Chemistry from FCT-UNL (2004) and received his PhD in Chemistry from IST, under the supervision of Prof. Carlos A. M. Afonso (2008). He worked for 6 months as an invited assistant professor at Cooperativa de Ensino Egas Moniz and took his postdoc at FF-UL under the supervision of Dr. Pedro M. P. Góis for 3 years and at Scripps Research Institute under the supervision of Prof. Carlos F. Barbas III for a year. In 2012 he moved to Tampere University of Technology in Finland as a University Lecturer, where he became Adjunct Professor and Academy Research Fellow in 2015. In 2020 he moved to University of Aveiro as Assistant Professor.
