Carlos J. P. Monteiro is a Researcher in LAQV, University of Aveiro. He concluded his PhD in Macromolecular Chemistry in 2012 (Univ. of Coimbra). He was a co-founder of LUZITIN (2010) and participated in the medicinal chemistry discovery phase of the first Portuguese oncological drug candidate, Redaporfin in clinical trials. He awarded the INVENTA Prize (2011) for the best Portuguese patent in health and also received the IUPAC Young Chemist Award at the 42nd IUPAC Congress in 2009. He has published 22 papers (h-index=14), 2 book chapters, inventor of 3 patents, presented 38 posters/6 oral communications. His scientific interests are in the field of Organic Molecules Synthesis and their interaction with Light for Medicine and Energy.
