Pedro is a Master in Bioengineering (MSc) at the University of Porto, Portugal. During his studies, he was a research trainee for 15 months in Claudio Sunkel's lab at i3S in Porto. Afterwards, he was part of the Ladame group at Imperial College London, UK for a 5-month traineeship under the ERASMUS+ exchange programme. Pedro returned to i3S where he worked on his Master Thesis under the supervision of Cristina Barrias. After concluding his MSc, Pedro worked on a research fellowship of 1 year at LAQV/REQUIMTE (FCUP) and i3S.
Currently, he is developing his PhD work entitled "BioHeal - Bioactivatable modular dressing for chronic infected wounds" under the supervison of Cristina Martins, Cristina Barrias (i3S) and Paula Gomes (LAQV/REQUIMTE).
