Sílvia Petronilho obtained her PhD in Chemistry, in 2015, at UAveiro. She developed her FCT postdoc grant from July 2017 to October 2023 at UTAD, in collaboration with UAveiro. Since November 2023, she has been a Doctorate Researcher (Level 1) at UAveiro. She supervised 4 PhD students, 7 MSc, and 26 BSc students in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, and Materials Engineering. She published 24 scientific articles in Q1 journals (h-index of 12, Scopus: July 2024), where 13/24 articles were published as the first author and 9 as the corresponding one. She was also the author/co-author of 2 patents (WO/2012/069888 A1 and PT 105390), 1 book chapter, more than 80 communications in international and national congresses (oral and poster communications) and media (TV, newspaper, radio, and online platforms), and has participated in several dissemination actions. She also participated in different I&D projects. She belonged to the organization of scientific congresses and workshops. She has international exposure proven through collaborations and internships with different Universities and Research Institutes. She belongs to the Editorial Board of Foods (IF2022=5.561) as Topic Editor and is Guest Editor of 2 Special Issue. She has been integrated as a member of 2 international COST Actions. She won several awards, including the Gold Award at ECOTROPHELIA PORTUGAL (July 2022, Porto) and the Silver Award at ECOTROPHELIA EUROPE (October 2022, at Sial, Paris) with the mentoring of the Handy Rice, a starch-based product, and recently, she won an Honorable Mention at Dare2Change International Conference (March 2023, Porto). She has been a jury member for MSc grant applications and the jury of MSc thesis.
