Back
Ana S. P. Moreira received her first degree in Biochemistry in 2009 at the University of Aveiro (UA), where she completed her Master in Analytical Chemistry and Quality in 2011. In 2016, she received her Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry. During her PhD, to study structural modifications in oligo and polysaccharides of coffee, she worked with different mass spectrometers, also coupled to liquid and gas chromatography apparatus, providing her consolidate skills and know-how in mass spectrometry and glycomics approaches. Also, she performed work in the lab of Dra Laura Bravo (head of Metabolism and Bioactivity of Phytochemicals group, ICTAN-CSIC, Madrid, Spain), gaining experience in some cell biology techniques in international context. In 2017-2019, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Mass Spectrometry Centre (QOPNA & CESAM, Department of Chemistry, UA) in the framework of the international project GENIALG - GENetic diversity exploitation for Innovative macro¬ALGal biorefinery, where she developed work using both glycomics and lipidomics approaches. In 2019-2022, she was contracted Researcher (CICECO, UA) of the project Coccolithophore microalgae biorefinery: an approach for sustainable biomaterials (PTDC/BII-BIO/31032/2017). Since May 2022, she is contracted Researcher in Mass Spectrometry Centre (UA), within the scope of the Green Chemistry Laboratory project (LAQV-REQUIMTE; UIDP/50006/2020). In her professional activities, Ana interacted with several national and international collaborators in coauthor of scientific works. She has been conducted research work in the field of structural characterization of different biomolecules, specially carbohydrates and lipids, from different matrices, using mass spectrometry-based approaches. Her research interests include the applications of Omics tools to different fields of research namely Lipidomics in Health & Disease, Algae Lipidomics, and Algae Glycomics.
