Visiting Professor
Ana M. L. Seca has a degree in Chemistry and a MSc in Science and Technology of Paper and Forest Products both obtained at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where she also received her PhD in Chemistry in 2000. Since then she is Assistant Professor in University of Azores (Portugal). She published more than 45 papers and 8 book chapter in reputed journals/book. She attended numerous international scientific workshops and congresses.
Her main interests concern the isolation and identification of biologically active secondary metabolites, focusing on medicinal plants and seaweeds. She has high interest also in the cytotoxic, antioxidant and anti-acetylcholinesterase evaluation and in the synthesis of natural derivative compounds.
