Joana L. C. Sousa graduated in Chemistry from FCUP in 2006 and finished her Master’ studies at UA in 2009. In 2016, she earned her PhD in Organic Chemistry from UA, under Prof Artur Silva’ scientific guidance. After that, she held a postdoc grant within the MultiBiorefinery project at QOPNA and CICECO (UA). Now, she is a researcher of REQUIMTE-LAQV (UA). Her current research interests include the development of new synthetic methodologies of C-glycosylated oxygen heterocyclic compounds and their evaluation as epigenetic drugs for cancer therapy. Joana L. C. Sousa is co-author of 15 SCI papers (2 as corresponding author, 10 as first author, h-index of 8), 2 SCI conference proceedings, and presented 3 oral communications and 24 posters.
