Idalina Gonçalves has a PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering (University of Minho, 2014) and is a Junior Researcher at CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, working in Materials and Ceramic Engineering Department of University of Aveiro. She works in the development of bioplastic materials with photosensitizing, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and/or antifungal activity at laboratory and pilot scale, using processing technologies frequently found in plastic industry, namely, solvent casting, melt-mixing, extrusion, blown extrusion, injection molding, hot-pressing, thermoforming, and 3D printing.
