Filipa B. Pimentel completed her PhD. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (speciality of Nutrition and Food Science) in 2020 (FFUP), her MSc. in Food Service Management in 2011 (FCNAUP), and Degree in Nutrition Sciences in 2004 (FCNAUP). She has published 31 articles in specialized peer-review journals and co-authors 1 registered patent (SOILIFE). Her main research interests are within agricultural sciences and food biotechnology, sustainability and valorisation of food industry by-products, food processing and technology. Lately, during her PhD project, she has developed research activities related to the extraction, isolation and purification of food-derived proteins and enzymatic production of protein hydrolysates and bioactive peptides.
