LAQV mobilises efforts against COVID-19

Back to list

We are living in a very special time in history, in which we are pulled apart from each other and, at the same time, we are all working together to tackle COVID-19. LAQV is not an exception, and it has been mobilising researchers to help in this fight. Researchers from the Natural Products - Chemistry and Bioactivity and the Food Quality and Technology research groups, working at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, are contributing with their expertise and resources to help the health sector.

Answering the needs of the main Hospitals from Oporto and in collaboration with other research institutes, LAQV researchers are donating several reagents, such as alcohol, and producing, in record time, thousands of tubes to transport and preserve biological samples collected in the COVID-19 tests carried out in hospitals.

We are grateful to LAQV researchers for their efforts and to the scientific community in general who has been joining forces to help the community at the frontline of this global crisis.
