Holds a degreed on Pharmaceutical Sciences (2004) from the Faculty of Pharmacy, a master's on Public Health (2010) from the Faculty of Medicine and a PhD on Bromatology and Hidrology (2017) from the Faculty of Pharmacy, all from the University of Coimbra.
His major research interests have focused on: (i) food contaminants (pharmaceuticals and heavy metals); (ii) environmental contaminants (pharmaceuticals); (iii) environmental and human risk assessment.
He has 19 publications in indexed international journals (H-Index 9).
