I am a dedicated researcher and academic with a strong background in food science and technology. I hold a Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2011) and a second Master's in Quality Control (Food & Water) from the University of Porto. In 2019, I earned my PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Nutrition & Food Science), focusing on food safety and the impact of contaminants like endocrine disruptors in seafood on human health.

Currently, I am a Junior Researcher under a CEEC grant, which supports my ongoing investigations and projects. Over the years, I have led and participated in numerous research projects, including those funded by FP7, FEDER, and FCT. I have published 55 papers in indexed journals, which have garnered over 1800 citations, achieving an h-index of 34. My work is frequently featured in high-impact journals within the fields of Food Science, Nutrition, Applied Chemistry, and Environmental Sciences.

In addition to my research, I have contributed book chapters and technical reports, including one for the World Health Organization. I am deeply involved in teaching, supervising, and mentoring students from various countries. My collaborations extend to the food and pharmaceutical industries. I also serve as a guest editor, reviewer for top journals, and actively participate in scientific events and dissemination activities.
