MSc student

Helena obtained her MSc degree in Quality Control from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (Food and Water Specialization), after a Specialization and Bachelor’s in Biochemistry (Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto).
During her MSc studies, she assessed the neurotoxicity of common food contaminants through in vitro methods.
As a research fellow at LAQV-REQUIMTE, her research has focused on human cell-based assays to study the effect of
bioactive compounds, dietary contaminants, and whole meals on health, including intestinal inflammation and neurotoxicity.
