João Carlos Lima obtained his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 1996, at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). After a postdoc at the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology (ITQB) he obtained a position at the Department of Chemistry in the School of Science and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2000. He is presently Associated Professor with habilitation and coordinates the Cultural Heritage and Responsive Materials (CHARM) group at Green Chemisty Associated Laboratory (LAQV@REQUIMTE). His research focus on photochemistry and photophysics with emphasis on luminescent materials. molecular sensors, photochemical responsive systems, photocatalysis and dye sensitized solar cells.
