Joana Costa has PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2013) and MSc in Quality Control - Water/Food Specialty (2009) (Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade do Porto) and graduation in Biochemistry (2004) (Faculdade de Ciências, UP). Currently, she is Assistant Researcher at REQUIMTE LAQV/FFUP, with research activities in Food Allergy (developing DNA-/protein-based methods/studying structural properties of food allergens) and leading ALLERGENSHAPING project. Other research areas: food authentication, identification of plant/animal species and GMO detection by DNA methods. She has 93 articles (H-index 32, 2451 citations), 9 chapters, 75 oral/93 poster presentations, organizing committee in international scientific events (11), 11 awards. Co/supervision of 2 Post-doc, 3 PhD, 8 MSc and 8 undergraduate students. Participation in n=29 national/international projects, editorial board, and MC member of Cost Actions (CA18127, CA18227, FA1402).
