Vanessa Silva has a degree and a master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and currently develops her doctoral thesis in Veterinary Sciences funded by FCT. She is a guest assistant in curricular unit Genomics and Proteomics at the same institution. She supervised several undergraduate students and master dissertations. Vanessa has more than 45 articles published in indexed journals with impact factor, 7 book chapters, more than 25 oral communications and 70 posters presentations at national and international conferences and has won 5 awards for best communication. She is a member of the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases where she integrates 3 European study groups.
